An amazing A.A. Heckel Jun. Bb rotary trumpet made in Adorf, Germany in the late 19th century. The Heckel family was a large instrument making family from bassoons all the way to trumpets. Their trumpets became legendary and used throughout major orchestras around the world. A.A. Heckel is a lesser known Heckel family member but still made an amazing trumpet here! This was restored by J.c. Sherman of Variations in Brass and is in amazing condition for being 130+ years old! Small patch on the bell rim. Plays great, was used with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in 2022 when they played a Schumann concert on period instruments. Rare collector’s item!
