A true French horn!
Here we have a compensating double horn made by Antoine Courtois in Paris, France. It has an ascending 3rd valve raising the horn a whole-step to C/G, a popular fingering system used in France. These horns were popular with players such as Georges Barboteu, this being the earlier Bernard model before Barboteu helped create his own design (see photos).
This horn is in wonderful condition and plays very well. It comes with the original case and original narrow shank Courtois mouthpiece. It currently sits in Bb. Could use a cleaning, alignment, and some brace work to be in optimal playing condition.
