Over the past few decades Lowell Greer made a full set of fixed pitch baroque horns. This horn is pitched in baroque D (D at A=415, or modern Db). It has 1 venthole for fixing the out of tune 11th and 13th harmonics for “bells up” playing. Takes a narrow shank mouthpiece.
The horn has one small crack which will be patched up. Please allow ample time for this repair.
There is another horn in this collection, #60, which Lowell never finished but was meant to be the pair to this one. Miles O’Malley will be completing that horn and patching up this horn.
If one wanted to buy both #5 and #60 to have a pair of baroque D horns we could offer a discount. Please contact us if you’re interested.
