Lausmann Vienna Horn c. 1855-1879

Here we have an amazing Vienna horn made by J.W. Lausmann, one of the best makers in Linz, Austria in the mid-19th century. Lausmann was active in Linz from 1855-1879 so this horn could have been made at any time during those years. It was recently restored by Richard Seraphinoff and is ready to play!

Comes with the original F crook at ~A=435 (pitch in Vienna at the time), a period G crook at ~A=440, and a new F crook at A=444 (A=440 with the main slide pulled a bit) made by Seraphinoff to take a zero Morse shank mouthpiece instead of the huge cornet size original crooks. The horn is entirely original except for a reconstructed main tuning slide which had been altered sometime in the past. The horn plays great with heavy oil but Seraphinoff recommended getting the pumpenvalves plated if one wanted better compression.

Comes with a Vienna horn case, possibly original to the horn.
