About This Horn:
This Kruspe double from around 1905 is spectacular! Compression is great, all slides and rotors are in great shape. This is ready to be played as a full time instrument.
Kruspe invented the first double horn in 1897, so this Kruspe from 1905 was made within the first 10 years after that. Both a collector’s item and an amazing player, wow!
Stephen Laifer, 4th Horn in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, played this horn and is quoted saying “That Kruspe has the most gorgeous sound imaginable.” And we agree!
The original leadpipe was beyond repair, which is common for this vintage horn, and has been replaced with a top-of-the-line Atkinson leadpipe.
