Karl Dressel is a fairly unknown name today but was a popular in the mid-20th century. So popular that Carl Geyer himself imported Dressel horns into his shop in the 1950’s! The daughter of the original owner said the horn was purchased by her father in Chicago while on assignment in the United States from Germany.
This horn, a Model K, plays amazingly well and in amazing condition! A bit heavier than a true Geyer horn but one can see why Geyer himself had these for sale at his shop. Geyer worked in Markneukirchen before moving to Chicago and working at Richard Wunderlich’s shop.
The original leadpipe had an unfixable issue with its venturi, so we swapped it out with a comparable leadpipe made in Germany and sold through Giardinelli in New York.
