Couturier Conical Bore Single F Horn – Collector’s Item!

Available

$3,000.00

One of the strangest horns ever made, but it plays exceptionally well and a rare collector’s item!

Couturier was obsessed with making every brass instrument completely conical (meaning it constantly gets bigger from the start to the end of the instrument). This is his 2nd version of the Conical Bore horn made around 1923, patented in 1922. It’s in exceptional condition with all original parts, Eb slide, mouthpiece, case, and even the marching lyre! Uses pistons instead of rotors which was fairly common in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This is part of the Hampson Horns Collection. Dr. James Hampson performed in Carnegie Hall on this horn so you know it’s a great instrument!

No trials for this rare and antique horn.
