An amazing customized H series Conn 8D, played in the Cleveland Orchestra and San Diego Symphony. 1 owner, purchased new in 1966.
This horn had a valve job by Chuck Ward so it’s in wonderful playing condition. Has a few dents which don’t affect playability. The flare has a large patch on it, which was put on around 1992 by Chuck Ward. It was still played professionally after this patch. There are a few small ripples in the flare as well which we left because of how thin and resonant the flare is. These don’t seem to affect playability.
Currently on the horn is a pre-letter Elkhart 8D pipe. The original H series pipe and an Atkinson pipe can be purchased here.
The extra leadpipes and/or mouthpieces can be included for discounted prices.
The original braces and guards are also included. Straight mute included.
