The original Wendler model was made in the 1920’s by Kruspe with help from George Wendler of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Wendler had been playing on a Kruspe Gumpert model and wanted a few updates made to the horn. Both Dressler and Monnig made updates to the Wendler model after WWII, and this Schmidt Wendler model is another update to the very successful compensating design.
