Wow! A rare and early double horn by one of the best makers in Germany until their factory was destroyed during World War II.
We have owned about a dozen Schediwy instruments over the years and they are some of the highest quality instruments we’ve ever seen, and this double horn is no exception.
This horn is being sold as-is as it requires a restoration to be professionally playable. Fortunately most of the work required is in the bell and tail, the most accessible place for a repair tech do work. The leadpipe requires patches, or a new custom leadpipe could be made during restoration.
The most comparable horn nowadays would be an Alexander 103, mixed with a Kruspe wrap horn.
Collector’s item, and with a restoration would be an amazing example of a historic double horn made during the early 20th century.
